So I know it’s been awhile since my last post. Well I have a great reason for that which I will get to shortly. My job over the last three years had me traveling all across Canada staying in hotels and having no choice but to eat out(well so I thought). Prior to that I used to eat pizza fast food of any type and junk all the time. When I was about 25 I started to pack on some weight and it just continued from there. I would say that the previous 7 years or so from 32 going back was quite a bender. Not only was I consuming copious amounts of junk but I was also drinking a few more beer than I should have aswell. So as time went on and my careers had changed I noticed I was doing less physical work at work and more pencil pushing than anything.
This morning I was inspired by a post I read on a website asking about meal ides and especially breakfast. This will be a quick post based on a quick easy meal I threw together this morning.
Grilling and barbecue opens up a mountain of food opportunities and varieties for any food adventurer; amateur, journeyman or expert. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love food? It’s in our nature. The hardest part to overcome for new cooks or people simply wanting to cook a homemade meal themselves is the misconception that it is difficult and it takes a while.
The following feast is neither difficult nor time consuming. It’s wholesome, hearty and downright delicious.
So last week while I was buying beef ribs at the grocery store I happened to notice a sign in the butcher shop window saying prime rib ½ price. Well obviously this couldn’t go unnoticed, I double checked with my butcher friend to make sure there were no mistakes and grabbed a 3 lbs slab. I had him cut it in half for two great inch and bit thick steaks.
